80degrees in November

Before and After. The only thing missing is the two dudes.

I'm sitting in the room that you see above. It doesn't look like that anymore, although I did sit in it quite a bit when it was just dirt, scraps of wood, piles of bricks and other debris. I remember working what seemed like endless days with Jacob ripping up the 5 layers of floor. We worked into the night and didn't have much light. I could have worked forever. I had my new hammer ( still have it!), Jacob and I took turns with the reciprocating saw, Lauren brought us Gatorade and beer as we brought the evening to a close. Old floors gone, beams taken out - made new. It was more than I originally expected - LIFE ENCOMPASSING. I convinced Ian to move back from Asheville. Shovels and jackhammers. We got metal bits stuck in a tree trunk = no good. Fences down, trenches dug, gravel, dirt, wood. Pneumatic nailers, air compressors humming - luckily the only thing we pierced were two by fours (they aren't actually 2x4).

Roomates and a lover.

A host of family and friends.

The place I call home.

Here it is!

Where my heart lays down.

Getting closer and closer everyday.

Not perfection (also known as completion) but direction.

I had a vision.

I like that thing on your hair!

Undeserved but hopeful!

The sun set; but set not his hope:
Stars rose; his faith was earlier up:
Fixed on the enormous galaxy,
Deeper and older seemed his eye:
And matched his sufferance sublime
The taciturnity of time.
He spoke, and words more soft than rain
Brought the Age of Gold again:
His action won such reverence sweet,
As hid all measure of the feat.
Work of his hand
He nor commends nor grieves:
Pleads for itself the fact;
As unrepenting Nature leaves
Her every act.
